Communication skills for IBCLCs: strengthening interpersonal connections with women and families for effective, compassionate support
Communication skills are essential to enhance interactions with pregnant women, new mothers and their families, recognising that effective communication underpins meaningful breastfeeding counselling. Also explored are culturally informed approaches to communication and counselling, supporting respectful, woman‑centred and family‑centred care across diverse communities.
